Suzanne Baker
“The influence of the
country and people where I grew up in just outside Sequoia National
Park, has been a great factor in shaping my life as a
painter.”
The community of artists, ranchers and mountain enthusiasts has
provided much reference material for her beautiful, soft, contemporary
western paintings. She has worked many times as a cowboy and
trainer of young stock horses and explored nearly every foot of the
area in Northern California’s Sierra Foothills on horseback.
Baker has won top awards at shows and in 1989, three of her paintings
accompanied President Bush to Beijing. She has also participated in the
Western Rendezvous Art Show in Helena, Montana at the Tucson Museum of
Art and held the title of artist in residence at Rocky Mountain
National Park and Yosemite National Park.
