Thompson was born in Oklahoma, but Texas has been home for most of his life. As a painter and a sculptor, most of his work involves the depiction of wildlife. His work has been featured in several publications and he has exhibited in nationally juried shows. "Every animal has its own personality and working from life helps to accurately portray that personality and vitality. My aim is to get past the surface to the heart of the subject and hopefully touch the heart of the viewer".
